Liquid City (2015, doc, 12min, dir. Laís Santos Araújo)

Synopsis:

Maceió, Alagoas: jutting out over the city's sea, the Alagoas Yacht Club was used for decades for parties and leisure activities by the elite of Alagoas. The Papódromo, on the other hand, was built for a brief visit by Pope John Paul II on the banks of the Mundaú Lagoon, a region historically abandoned by the government. Liquid City is a documentary that addresses the socio-spatial segregation of Maceió through emotional memories of these two places, now abandoned.
